Gypsy Music
Romani music (sometimes known as gypsy or gipsy music, which can be a disparaging term) is the music of the Romani people, who originated in northern India but now dwell primarily in Europe.
The Romani people, who were once nomadic but are now mostly established, have long worked as entertainers and traders. Romanies have become well-known musicians in many of the regions where they inhabit. Byzantine, Greek, Arabic, Indian, Persian, Turkish, Slavic, Romanian, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, and even Jewish musical genres have all been influenced by the vast distances travelled.
